What’s the problem?

The number of people experiencing homelessness and housing instability in Massachusetts remains very high.

  • 13,257 people in families with children

  • 6,267 adults over age 24 in households without children

  • 493 young adults ages 18-24 in households without children

  • Of the 20,068 people counted as experiencing homelessness:

    • 985 people were identified as veterans

    • 465 young people were identified as unaccompanied youth, age 24 and younger

    • 2,122 people were identified as experiencing chronic homelessness

Worcester County Food Bank

Worcester County Food Bank (WCFB) is one of three Feeding America member food banks in Massachusetts.

We’re dedicated to engaging, educating, and leading Worcester County, Massachusetts in creating a hunger-free community – and we do this in two ways.


Impact & Info

  • WCFB and operates a network of 115 local food pantries and community meal programs.

  • WCFB distributed 6.1M pounds of donated food.

  • WCFB provided 5.1M meals to over 75,000 people from all 60 cities and towns in Worcester County.

Abby’s House

Abby’s House (Abby Kelley Foster House, Inc.) was founded in Worcester, MA in 1976.

Abby’s House is a nonprofit organization, providing shelter, affordable housing, and support services to homeless, battered, and low-income women, with or without children.


Impact & Info

  • Over 13,000 women and children served.

Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless

Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless (MCFTH) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to eradicating homelessness from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

MCFTH serves as an advocate, developer, provider, and organizer for people experiencing homelessness or those at risk of homelessness.

Impact & Info

  • A $10 donation provides personal hygiene kit, t-shirt and pants, sweatshirt and warm socks, and winter coat.
